The Lebanese ASHRAE Chapter (LAC)’s vision is to become a hub gathering all experts working in the fields of heating, refrigerating and air-conditioning in Lebanon. This vision is derived from the ASHRAE’s mission of advancing “the arts and sciences of HVAC&R to serve humanity and promote a sustainable world”.

HVAC&R is a critical technology in the region where the climatic conditions are rarely close to comfort conditions as fixed by ASHRAE standards. Lebanon is a small country located along the eastern shore of the Mediterranean Sea and is blessed with nice weather conditions but highly variable. You may experience relatively hot conditions in summer along the coastal area and at the same time enjoy much colder conditions few kilometers away at 2000-3000 m altitude. The story is the opposite in winter with heavy snow in the mountainous area and relatively comfortable conditions along the coast. Needless to say that both cooling and heating are needed and ASHRAE is the reference in that.

Currently we have around 90 regular members all very active at both national and regional scales, and a similar number of student members with student branches in major universities in the country. The Chapter is ranked among the top performers in terms of student branches and student population in the ASHRAE Region-At-Large to which the chapter belongs.

We hold regular meetings and technical seminars at the Order of Engineers and Architects Building, Beirut. We would be more than happy to see friends and supporters at our events. However, we highly encourage you to join ASHRAE to obtain the full benefits of membership. It is easy and can be done via Join ASHRAE Online.
